Tens of pilot whales die on Mexico's shores

Twenty-seven pilot whales were found by villagers in shallow waters near the shores of Baja California, Mexico. According to a statement from the Mexican Navy, the soldiers, Mexico's environmental-protection agency, PROFEPA and local people worked until the night to save the whales, but could not push them into deeper water.Pilot whales are more likely to beach themselves than most other whale species. The reasons for this are not fully understood.
