Nearly two thousand prisoners escaped from two separate jails raided by gunmen in Lagos during the ongoing protests against the controversial Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) police unit in Nigeria. Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tuesday imposed a 24-hour curfew in the state after criminals reportedly attacked peaceful protestors and destroyed property amid nationwide protests against police brutality.
