Turkish security forces seized an ancient Jewish Torah manuscript in the northwestern province of Bursa on January 26, 2020. Written on gazelle leather, the Torah is believed to date back at nearly 2000 years. Anti-smuggling police teams carried out an operation in Inegol district upon receiving intelligence that a Syrian national named Fares N. was keeping an ancient book in his house. The police said the suspect was later arrested.
