SpaceX launched its Falcon 9 v1.1 rocket on Sunday, successfully sending NASA's Jason-3 ocean-measuring satellite into orbit, but failed a return landing on a drone platform in the Pacific Ocean. The video shows the moment a rocket bound for the International Space Station exploded a few minutes after lift off from Cape Canaveral. According to SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, one of the Falcon 9's legs failed to lock as it touched down, causing the rocket to topple in a hard landing.
