Firecracker explodes next to goalkeeper during football match

A firecracker was thrown at goalkeeper Anthony Lopes as he was receiving treatment during the match between Metz and Lyon. Metz defender Guido Milan saw the device on the grass and tried to warn players away, but Lopes and a Lyon club doctor were both caught in the blast. The referee took the players off the pitch and the match was abandoned after a further 45-minute delay. Lyon later tweeted to say Lopes's condition was being assessed in hospital.
