A batch of meal delivery drones started trial operation in Shanghai on Tuesday. The drone delivery service is now only available in the Shanghai Jinshan Industrial Park, with a range of 58 square kilometers. The drones which can significantly decrease the delivery time, will cover 70 percent of the distribution routes in the future. Apart from improving the delivery efficiency, the drones can also save the labor cost against the booming demand for meal delivery service.
