The United States' first ever veiled judge, Nadia Kahf, has taken up her post at the New Jersey State District High Court. Kahf, of Syrian origin, was sworn in by placing her hand on a handwritten copy of the Quran dating back to the 1800s, which had belonged to her grandmother.
