Women of Afrin welcome Turkish troops: ‘I wish you had come earlier’

The women of Afrin's Hatip in northwestern Syria greeted Turkish troops who cleared the village with the Free Syrian Army (FSA) as part of Operation Olive Branch with tears of joy. “Why didn't you come five years earlier?! If only you came five years earlier, then my husband wouldn't have died," exclaimed one woman who then passed out. The villagers thanked the soldiers for bringing peace and security to their village.
