Austria’s far-right government led by Chancellor Sebastian Kurz is rolling up its sleeves in order to implement new Nazi-like measures against asylum seekers.

Their medieval regulations include holding refugees in “security detention” should they pose a threat and turning reception centers into “departure centers.”

Interior Minister Herbert Kickl of the far-right FPÖ announced the new measures in a press conference on Monday, sparking outrage.

Kickl announced that a nighttime curfew would be imposed for those who had applied for but had not yet been granted asylum, and that these people would have to stay in their designated centers between 10.00 pm and 6.00 am.

The interior minister added that asylum seekers would have to “voluntarily” adhere to the curfew.

"For those who don't want that, we'll find a place for them where there is little incentive to hang around," Kickl said.

Kickl also announced that reception centers are to be renamed as “departure centers” as of March 1 in a bid to dissuade people from applying for asylum in Austria.

"It is necessary to send clear signals," he concluded.
