An angry customer found a unique way to express his frustration at the closure of a post office in Turkey’s Istanbul by “spitting” out his hatred as officials attempted to implement measures to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus.

According to reports, a post office employee in Istanbul’s Fatih district was displaying symptoms of a high fever. Upon this discovery, the waiting area was evacuated and it was announced that the cargo department would be disinfected to ensure the safety of employees and customers alike against the deadly epidemic that has ravaged the world.

However, the perpetrator refused to leave the building and started spitting on everything in sight, insisting that their transaction be concluded.

The spitball who paid no heed to warnings was reported to the police, but escaped before he could be taken into custody.

After first appearing in Wuhan, China in December, the virus, officially known as COVID-19, has spread to at least 177 countries and regions, according to data compiled by U.S.-based Johns Hopkins University.

More than 607,900 cases have been reported worldwide, with the death toll exceeding 28,100 and more than 131,800 recoveries.
