The Daesh terrorist group has reportedly attacked a housing facility of U.S. soldiers in Syria’s eastern province of Deir ez-Zor, accordinng to local sources.

Daesh militants attempted to drive a bomb-laden vehicle into the facility, but the vehicle was bombed by U.S.-led coalition warplanes, the sources said on condition of anonymity due to security concerns.

A number of militants were reportedly killed, along with a civilian, the sources said. Five other civilians were injured in the attack.

Daesh militants had tried to stage two more attacks in the area during which they engaged in deadly clashes with PYD/PKK terrorist group before Daesh withdrew from the area.

No reports of casualties.

There was no comment from the U.S.-led coalition on the attack.

On Friday, Daesh militants attacked regime forces near western Euphrates River, which cuts Deir ez-Zor province into two, killing 20 soldiers.

Located near the Iraqi border, Deir ez-Zor is currently divided into zones of domination, controlled by YPG/PKK and Daesh terrorist groups along with regime forces.

While the regime controls the western parts of the Euphrates River, the energy-rich east is under the occupation of YPG/PKK terror group. On the other hand, the Daesh terror group is dominant in a small area, surrounded by YPG/PKK.
