Egyptian authorities on Monday deported a second dual German-Egyptian national for suspected links to the Daesh terrorist group, according to the official MENA news agency.
Issa Mohammed Sabbagh, 19, was arrested upon arrival in the southern city of Luxor from Germany, MENA said without giving an exact date of his arrest.
The official agency said Sabbagh embraced Daesh ideology and had maps of the northern Sinai Peninsula in his possession.
The Sinai Peninsula has remained the epicenter of a militant insurgency since mid-2013 when Mohamed Morsi -- Egypt’s first freely elected president -- was ousted in a military coup.
Last week, German media outlets reported that the German authorities were looking into the disappearance of two German nationals in Egypt.
