Egypt and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Sunday reiterated their rejection of attempts to harm the stability of the Arab countries.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi held talks with UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed al-Nahyan, who arrived in Cairo earlier on Sunday for talks with Egyptian officials.
“The talks tackled means of bolstering bilateral relations as well as regional developments and risks to Arab national security,” the Egyptian Presidency said in a statement.
According to the statement, the two sides agreed on the necessity to stand up against all forms of interference and attempts to harm security and stability of Arab countries.
Last month, al-Sisi visited the UAE for talks with Emirati officials on regional developments.
Egypt and the UAE are members of a Saudi-led bloc that severed diplomatic and trade ties with Qatar last year, accusing Doha of supporting terrorism.
Doha denies the accusation and contends that attempts to diplomatically isolate the Gulf state was in violation of international law.
