A high-magnitude earthquake struck the Pacific island of Vanuatu on Wednesday.
An earthquake measuring 6.8 on the Richter scale hit the coast of Port-Olry, Vanuatu, the US Geological Survey said in a brief statement.
The earthquake triggered a tsunami warning, but it was later canceled, according to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.
There were no reports of any damage from the island nation, which lies around 1,750 kilometers (1,090 miles) east of northern Australia and is made up of around 80 islets.
