Indonesian leader prays for rain in haze-hit city

Indonesian President Joko Widodo on Tuesday attended a mass prayer for rain in the haze-hit city of Pekanbaru.

The prayer was offered at Amrullah Mosque inside the air force base complex.

Widodo was joined by his ministers, commander of the National Armed Force, police chief and other officials.

After the prayer, the president was scheduled to inspect two locations of forest and peatlands fires in some districts around the city.
