A total of 45 Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) terrorists have been neutralized since May 27 in Operation Claw, which was launched by the Turkish Armed Forces against the PKK terror group in northern Iraq, according to a statement issued by Turkey’s Ministry of Defense on Wednesday.
The number of those neutralized during the operation reached 45 after two more PKK terrorists were neutralized.
Authorities often use the word “neutralized" in statements to imply terrorists in question surrendered, were killed or captured.
During the operation, a large amount of ammunition, weapons and explosives were also seized.
In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU -- has been responsible for the deaths of nearly 40,000 people, including many women and children.
