Pakistan nationals residing in the Indian district of Bikaner have been asked to leave “within 48 hours,” in the wake of the Kashmir attack, according to orders issued by the District Magistrate.

The district administration has issued a list of orders “effective immediately” on Monday.

The orders also prohibit hotels and lodges of the district from “allowing the stay of Pakistani citizens."

Indian citizens in the Bikaner district have also been ordered against “employing any Pakistani citizens.”

The orders follow days of rising tension between the old rivals after a suicide bomber blew himself up near an Indian police convoy in disputed Kashmir on Thursday, killing at least 40 paramilitary police.
