Qatar announced Wednesday the start of the first phase of ticket sales for the FIFA World Cup 2022.

“The opening FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 ticket application phase will launch today, 19 January 2022, with ticket products and packages set to attract fans from the region and across the globe to a special celebration of the beautiful game,” the Qatari Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy said on its website.

The governmental body said a wide range of “enticing options” will be made available in this opening phase to allow fans across the globe to “have a chance to secure their seats so they do not miss out on a once-in-a-lifetime experience.”

The first sale period is set to end on Feb. 8.

The statement said there will be “no difference whether applications are submitted on the first day, the last day or any time in between,” noting that “all tickets will be allocated following the closing of the ticket application period.”

There will be a special price category for residents of Qatar starting from 40 Qatari riyals (around $11).

Qatar is set to host World Cup 2022 from Nov. 21 to Dec. 18 2022.
