Russia aims to continue working "systematically" with Türkiye in order to develop the entire complex of their relations, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Thursday.

Responding to accusations of Moscow’s meddling in Türkiye’s presidential election made by opposition candidate Kemal Kilicdaroglu, Zakharova said in a statement published on the ministry's website that Russia does not interfere in the internal affairs of other states.

"Any additional comments are unnecessary here. The Turkish people have demonstrated their preferences during the democratic expression of their will.

"We respect this choice. We intend to continue to work systematically with the Turkish side to develop the entire complex of our relations," she said.

On May 23, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu told Turkish media that Kilicdaroglu was asked to present proof of Russia's meddling, to which he said it was "an impression."

On Thursday, the Turkish Supreme Election Council officially declared Recep Tayyip Erdogan the winner of the Turkish presidential election runoff.

The final results showed that Erdogan received 52.18% of the vote and Kilicdaroglu garnered 47.82%.
