The Turkish military on Sunday deployed tanks and armored vehicles along with a number of troops in the border city of Gaziantep.

Media reports said the reinforcement was a part of the Turkey-backed Free Syrian Army (FSA) fighters' operation against Daesh and the People's Protection Units (YPG) in northern Syria.

The tanks and vehicles were stationed at a military base in the Oğuzeli district near the Syrian border.

They are expected to join the FSA's Operation Euphrates Shield in Syrian city of Jarablus in the upcoming days.

Euphrates Shield is a Turkey-backed Free Syrian Army (FSA) fighters' operation that was launched on Aug 24 to liberate border cities of northern Syria from terrorist groups like Daesh and PYD/YPG.

Since then, more than 13,000 square kilometers of land including 64 residential areas were completely cleared from the terror groups.
