If the terrorist group YPG joins an international coalition operation against Daesh terrorists in Syria's Raqqa, Turkey would not send its military to support the operation, Turkish Spokesperson Ibrahim Kalın said on Thursday.
"Negotiations are still ongoing; there is nothing certain yet. Our principled stance is the same as it was with Manbij and Jarabulus. It is out of the question for us to take part in an operation in which the PYD/YPG are present," Ibrahim Kalin said in an interview on state run news channel TRT Haber.
Ankara has long been insisting that Washington stops supporting PYD/YPG terrorists in Syria.
YPG is a Syrian branch of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) terrorist organization, which has been conducting an insurgency in southeastern Turkey for decades.
"In principle, we support Raqqa and the other Syrian cities being cleansed from Daesh, but as we said before, we have principles and conditions on the issue," Kalin said.
