The Turkish foreign minister on Wednesday extended greetings on the Statehood Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"Heartfelt congratulations to friendly and brotherly #BosniaandHerzegovina on the occasion of the Statehood Day! Our strong support to Bosnia and Herzegovina’s stability and unity will continue," Mevlut Cavusoglu said on Twitter.

Statehood Day in Bosnia and Herzegovina is being celebrated since the first session of the State Anti-fascist Council for the National Liberation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the city of Mrkonjic Grad on Nov. 25, 1943.

Bosnia and Herzegovina regained the right to become a nation, its 1,000-year-old historical borders were preserved, and was guaranteed to be one of the six equal republics within the former Yugoslavia.
