The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) distributed food packages to families in need in Palestine during the holy month of Ramadan.

In a Sunday statement, the state-run agency said so far 15,000 food packages had been delivered in Gaza and over 5,000 in West Bank and Jerusalem.

Also, TIKA in cooperation with the Gaza Zakat Committee and the Palestinian Right and Justice Association provided food aid to people in different regions of Gaza.

In Jerusalem, 500-dollar shopping vouchers were distributed to 700 families to support shopkeepers.

A new initiative has been launched by TIKA to provide medicine and medical equipment to 15,000 Palestinians injured in the Great March of Return.

The distribution of 53,500 boxes of medicine, tens of thousands of medical equipment and cleaning materials to the hospitals under the Palestinian State Health Ministry in Gaza is ongoing.

Palestinians have held peaceful demonstrations dubbed the Great March of Return on the Gaza Strip since March 30. The Israeli army uses live ammunition against the Palestinians who demand "returning to the lands they were exiled from and an end to the illegitimate blockade Israel has imposed on Gaza since 2006".
