Turkey’s Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH) continues to distribute aid to Muslims living under crisis in Myanmar during the month of Ramadan.

According to a statement, the agency provides aid to Muslims living in Myanmar in addition to those who escaped persecution in the country to bordering Bangladesh.

The agency provided aid to the regions of Hlaing Tharyar, ShwePyithar, Thaketa, Thingangune, Meikhtila, Kunchangone, Dala, Ayelar, Yangon and Arakan, the statement added.

Over 100,000 Muslims will benefit from the aid during Ramadan, the foundation said.

Additionally, 71,125 people will receive food aid packages, 12,200 families will receive iftar (fast-breaking) meals in 10 different regions of Myanmar.

The aid will mainly be distributed in Sittwe, the capital of the volatile western Rakhine state, in which internal migration took place, and conflict-torn Maungdaw and Buthidaung area in the north of Rakhine state.

One of Turkey’s leading aid agencies, the IHH sends humanitarian aid to struggling people across the world, including war-torn-Syria, drought-hit Somalia and conflict-prone areas of Myanmar.
