Turkish Air Force jets carried out airstrikes early today, pounding Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) targets in the northern Iraq region of Zap, according to a statement from the Turkish Armed Forces (TAF).
Between 2:42 a.m. and 2:59 a.m. local time today, Turkish fighter jets struck a cave used for shelter upon receiving urgent intelligence regarding their confirmed whereabouts.
Eleven terrorists were neutralized as a result, according to initial estimates.
The TAF had previously carried out several airstrikes in northern Iraq onSaturday, neutralizing 12 PKK terrorists, according to a statement released at the time by the Turkish General Staff.
