A Turkish-origin man in the Netherlands has become the "greenest politician of 2018," a Dutch foundation announced last week.
Adnan Tekin, the 46-year-old deputy governor of North Holland province, won the competition organized by the Dutch Natural Monuments Foundation (Natuurmonumenten).
This is the program's eleventh iteration.
Some 10 candidates were voted for on the foundation's website. A jury selected the finalist from the top three candidates.
Tekin was awarded with a green seat for his office engraved with the names of the title's predecessors.
He told Anadolu Agency he was proud of the award and representing his Turkish roots.
