Erdoğan discusses regional developments with French, Uzbek leaders

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke with his French and Uzbek counterparts, Emmanuel Macron and Shavkat Mirziyoyev, over the phone on Saturday.

Erdoğan, Macron discuss developments in Syria

Erdoğan and Macron both reiterated their support of the further bolstering of Turkish and French ties.

Erdoğan and Macron discussed bilateral and regional issues as well as Syria, particularly the Turkey-U.S.-agreed Manbij roadmap, counterterrorism and the refugees.

The Manbij roadmap was first announced after a meeting in Washington last week between Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

The deal focuses on the withdrawal of the PKK-affiliated YPG terror group from the northern Syrian city and stability in the region.

Erdoğan and Macron both confirmed their commitment to remain in close contact following Turkey’s June 24 elections.

Turkish, Uzbek leaders speak over phone

Erdoğan and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev spoke over the phone on Eid al-Fitr, the occasion which marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan, in which Muslims around the world fast.

During the phone call, both Erdoğan and Mirziyoyev reaffirmed their commitment to further developing Turkey-Uzbekistan relations.

The Uzbek leader also expressed his goodwill on the upcoming Turkish presidential elections on June 24.
