U.S.-based social media platform Twitter, which censored the content of TRT World, Turkey's national news outlet’s English service, during Operation Peace Spring, has come under fire for verifying the account of a Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) terrorist.

The micro-blogging platform verified the account of YPG/PKK terrorist ringleader Ferhat Abdi Şahin, code-named Mazloum Kobani, with a blue badge.

Kobani is in the red category of the Turkish Interior Ministry's wanted list. The wanted list is divided into five color-coded categories, with red as the most wanted, followed by blue, green, orange and gray.

Twitter has censored the content of the TRT World, an English news platform which has been informing its Western audience, since Turkey started Operation Peace Spring to clear PKK/YPG terrorists off its southern border and create a safe zone for displaced Syrian war victims.

Turkey's Communications Director Fahrettin Altun, said in a statement on Thursday that Ankara views YPG/PKK ringleader Ferhat Abdi Sahin as a terrorist linked to the PKK terror group.

U.S. senators -- including Republican Lindsey Graham and Democrat Chris Van Hollen -- asked the U.S. State Department on Wednesday to provide a visa for Kobani so he could visit the country.

In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the European Union -- has been responsible for the deaths of 40,000 people, including women, children and infants. The YPG is the Syrian offshoot of the PKK.
