In a joint operation in 2016 between Hashd Shaabi, the Iraqi army and the Peshmerga in Iraq’s Mosul, small drones provided support to Daesh. Bedel Encu, a reporter from northern Iraq, said that many Peshmerga commanders at the time witnessed U.S. drones landing in neighborhoods in Mosul controlled by Daesh. The U.S. army was in constant contact with Daesh terrorists via drones, and ensured they could flee from Mosul unscathed, just as they did in Syria’s Raqqa. This is not the only example of the Pentagon and CIA protecting Daesh.
Iraqi national Semir Himmet, who spoke to Yeni Şafak daily in an exclusive interview, said there was an underground base in the Sahra al-Hadr area that was used by Daesh and protected by the U.S.
“The region where the base is located was deemed a prohibited area by the U.S. The Iraqi army, Peshmerga and Hashd Shaabi cannot enter. U.S. planes and drones are constantly surveying the area. Sometimes U.S. officials arrive in convoys. Warning shots are fired at those who attempt to enter without permission,” Himmet said.
U.S. helicopters landed in Daesh controlled areas in Iraq’s Mosul as well as Syria’s Deir Ezzor, Raqqa, Manbij, Hasakah and Tell Afar multiple times from 2015 to 2018. Local sources corroborate this information.
The U.S. is training Daesh terrorists at bases in Hasakah, Ayn Issa and Rimeylan in northern Syria. Over 8,000 Daesh terrorists are still under U.S. control.
