US, Turkish military leaders discuss Syria, Middle East

US, Turkey 'enjoy a strong military-to-military relationship as key members of the NATO alliance', Pentagon says

U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Joseph Dunford met his Turkish counterpart Gen. Hulusi Akar on the sidelines of a NATO summit in Brussels Wednesday, according to the Pentagon.

Pentagon spokesman Col. Patrick Ryder said: "The U.S. and Turkey enjoy a strong military-to-military relationship as key members of the NATO alliance," he added.

Both military leaders discussed Syria and the Middle East region, he added.
