Indecent proposal to Turkey with European cunning

The EU putting the free travel and visa exemption agreement, which already had a date, into the migration deal is an example of European cunning. The EU even took the risk of the migration package it proposed to Turkey being against EU migration laws.

The EU's officious attitude of propagating “European Values” through human rights shows us how the EU has lost face against the refugees. Sitting idly by and watching a human tragedy unfurl everyday, the EU waited for these people to run from this tragedy and hit the shores as refugees.

The bodies of refugees washing up on the shores were not an issue for them. We saw that Europe dealt with the issue on a different platform when these refugees came and wanted to share their comfortable lives.

The EU needs Turkey's help to overcome the refugee issue at the lowest possible cost. But in return it promises to keep its word on the previously decided visa-free travel issue. The free-move practice agreed on in 2013 is put into the package and expected to be practiced in October 2016. Moreover it has conditions to give this. It cunningly adds the condition that Turkey needs to tone down its anti-terror laws. This European cunning discloses Europe's greedy motive to do things at a low cost.

The EU making such an indecent proposal to Turkey while Turkey is losing lives in its fight against terrorism, shows that Turkey has to re-evaluate its relations with the EU. We have seen that they activate fascist practices when they experience terrorism once in a blue moon.

Daesh has conducted a few deadly attacks in Europe, but nobody can dare to propagate on behalf of Daesh and justify their terror attacks. European democracy and freedom of speech re-arranged its limits and borders after these attacks and made them stricter. France and Belgium still have not lifted the state of siege in their countries.

We already have a party that openly defends terrorism in Turkey, though such an attitude is trying the patience of the nation. If this party disassociates itself from terrorism and acts within the borders of politics, Turkish democracy and freedom of speech is great enough to embrace this party too. Turkey does not lack democracy, it even has a surplus, and this surplus causes terrorism, murders, felony and aiding and abetting terror to increase. In an environment in which there is verbal and physical help and aid for it, terrorism will dominate. Everyone has to realize that democracy is unable to keep its borders this wide.

On the other hand, the EU putting all its principles aside, temporarily suspending its democracy limits, being complacent toward Turkey's battle with terror and even supporting terrorism in Turkey, have become obstacles before relations between the EU and Turkey. This means the EU is openly supporting terrorism in Turkey. More importantly, it is a crime. The EU has made a routine of committing this crime. EU representatives posing and singing with PKK militants is openly supporting and encouraging terrorism. An organization that supports terrorism has to account for its own acts before interrogating democracy or human rights in Turkey.

Proving that it needs to learn a humanity lesson from Turkey (in regards to the refugee issue), the EU is far from teaching Turkey how to deal with terrorism, and instead needs to learn a democracy lesson from Turkey. Yesterday we lost eight soldiers. Three people lost their lives and many others were wounded after PKK terrorists attacked a police vehicle in Diyarbakır. It is only a coincidence that the people who died in this attack were PKK suspects that were being taken to the hospital for a check-up by the police. One of them is also a city councilor for the municipality. The next day five terrorists died and 25 people were wounded when the PKK accidentally exploded a bomb which they were preparing to use to kill dozens of people. There are deaths everyday in different parts of Turkey, and a political party can freely propagate and state that this is a fight for resistance.

Let alone toning down the fight against terror, giving terrorism the kind of definition wanted by the EU, on the contrary, the need to redefine the limits of tolerating terror, aiding and abetting it has gained complete urgency.

Because there is no other country where terrorism is supported so openly and freely. They shouldn't fool us or themselves; if only a fraction of the terrorism that happens in Turkey shifts over to Europe, Europe's democracy, freedom of speech and liberties will all turn upside down.
