A Turkish school, which was built upon a request from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in the Gulf Arab country of Qatar, was inaugurated with a ceremony by Turkey's presidential spokesman İbrahim Kalın.
The Doha Embassy Turkish School will have 250 students and adhere to the Turkish National Education Ministry's official curriculum.
"The opening of the school will boost Turkish-Qatari relations and help further develop ties," Kalın said.
"This school will provide educational services for both Turks settled in the country and the citizens of other countries living in Qatar,'' Kalın added
The cost to build school was TL 20 million ($5.43 million). It is expected to attract Turkish families in Qatar.
The school was inaugurated while Erdoğan was on official visit to Doha.
Meanwhile, Qatari Energy and Industry Minister Mohammad al-Sada announced that Qatar is ready to supply Turkey with unlimited liquefied natural gas (LNG).
Qatar sees Turkey as a safe haven for investments in a number of sectors, with economic relations between the two countries improving from 2007 to 2016.
Turkey exported some $440 million worth of ships, yachts, electrical and electronic devices, machines and furniture to Qatar last year.
Turkey imported some $271 million worth of oil, petroleum products, aluminum and plastic products from Qatar in the same period.
