Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım and his Hungarian counterpart Viktor Orban addressed the Turkey-Hungary Business Forum on Friday.

“After our president’s official visit to Hungary in 2013, our ties become much more active. We expect Turkish and Hungarian investors to evaluate the incentives. If we want to further improve our bilateral relations, we must evaluate the visa issue,” said Yıldırım.

“Hungary has always been constructive despite pressure from the EU, and has supported Turkey.”

The Turkish prime minister also commented on Turkey’s national developments.

“In the last 15 years, Turkey has greatly developed in many areas such as infrastructure, education and health. We have to make efforts to lift restrictions on travel with Hungary,” he said.

“Hungarian Prime Minister Orban's visit will be a new milestone in our relations. Let's work together as the state with the private sector. Turkey-Hungarian associations will go much further with the efforts of our businessmen.”

Yıldırım touched on travel and trade between Turkey and Hungary.

“There has been a 30 percent increase in trade in the first five months of this year, but the same is not the case for tourism,” the Turkish prime minister said.

“Regional events have not spread to the Balkans because Turkey has stopped the refugee flow. Turkey will continue to be a symbol of stability in the region.”
