A three-day-old baby looks like an 80-year-old senior citizen, apparently due to an extremely rare genetic condition which causes him to age quickly, according to MailOnline; the website of the Daily Mail.

Doctors have been left stunned as to what the cause of his ageing is, but they believe the baby has progeria, which causes a child's body to age eight times faster than it should.

Born in Magura, Bangladesh, the baby has hollow eyes, wrinkles and a thick layer of hair on his back, The UK-based tabloid reported.

Also known as Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome (HGPS), the disorder affects just one in four million and often restricts children from having a normal life. The genetic disorder is said to have inspired the Brad Pitt movie, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, in which the character is born an old man and ages backwards.

The family is happy to have a new baby boy in the house, despite the fact that most children with the condition don't live past the age of 13. The parents say they have accepted him the way he is.

People in the community are very curious to see the baby. His parents have been very busy with hosting plenty of visitors, willing to catch a glimpse of their son.

The local doctors have assured the parents the baby will do well for now, but they are still uncertain what they should do to treat the boy.
