La La Land wins big at BAFTA

American musical romantic comedy-drama wins 5 awards, including best director, actress

La La Land was the big winner at the BAFTA awards Sunday, taking the best picture and four other top categories.



Emma Stone, who stars in the film along with Ryan Gosling, won best actress, while Casey Affleck took home the leading actor prize for Manchester by the Sea.



La La Land also won the director, cinematography and original music awards.



The 70th edition of the British Academy Film Awards was held at the Royal Albert Hall in London and is seen as a predictor for who win at the Academy Awards later this month.

Best Film not in the English language: Son of Saul



Best Production Design: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them



Best Visual Effect: The Jungle Book



Best Makeup and Hairstyle: Florence Foster Jenkins



Best Production Design: Jackie



Best Sound: Arrival



Best Original Music: La La Land
