Turkish student’s movie to be shown at Cannes festival

Turkish university student’s short film will be shown at 2018 Cannes Film Festival

A short film shot by Turkish university student Doğa Çakaloz will be shown at the Cannes Film Festival, the Izmir-based Yasar University said in a statement Monday.

"Çakaloz, who is our Faculty of Arts and Design Department third year student, participated in the Crystal Camera Short Film Contest between universities and won the first prize," said a statement from the university.

The movie won the first prize in the Crystal Camera Short Film Contest which took place on Nov. 28 and thus gained the opportunity be shown at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival.

Çakaloz’s movie -- Neredesin (Where are you?) -- was shot in Bayindir district of İzmir. Bekir Aksoy, a famous Turkish actor, played the role of the main character.
