Police killed at least 12 members of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) terrorist organization in a raid on a house in eastern Turkey's Van province on Saturday.
After a tip-off on a group of terrorists hiding in a house near Kocaeli Park on Van-Edremit highway, Van police department launched a counterterror operation on Saturday night.
The operation, which was backed by the Special Team, turned into clashes as terrorists opened fire at security forces.
In a statement following the operation, police said they killed at least 12 terrorist while one police officer was martyred and two others were injured in the operation.
