Six soldiers were killed and four others were injured in a PKK terror attack on Tuesday in the district of Çaldıran in eastern the province of Van.
The attack took place on the highway connecting Çaldıran town in Van to Doğubeyazıt town Ağrı province.
PKK detonated the explosives planted on the highway while a military vehicle was passing.
The injured soldiers were immediately taken to hospitals. After the attack, the military was launched operation, backed by attack helicopter.
The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and EU -- resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July 2015.
The Southeast has been the scene of military campaing to intend to clear restive areas from the PKK.
