One police officer was injured in Istanbul when a group of unidentified assailants opened fire on the police.
The incident occurred in the Taksim region of Istanbul on Wednesday. Police attempted to carry out an information check (GBT) on a group of three people.
However the three unidentified men responded to police by opening fire on them. They fled after shooting a police officer in the arm.
A number of police teams were deployed to the scene after the attack.
The injured officer was taken to Taksim Acıbadem Hospital, where he was reported to be in good condition.
