Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has inaugurated a mosque in the presidential Palace complex, which ranks as the third largest mosque in Ankara, Turkey's capital, on Friday.



Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu and the newly elected Parliamentary Speaker İsmet Yılmaz have also attended the opening ceremony of the 'Beştepe Nation' Mosque.



Following the opening ceremony of the mosque, the President of the Presidency of Religious Affairs, Mehmet Görmez, led the Friday prayers.



The mosque has a separate entrance from the presidential palace and a capacity of 3,000 people. The Prayer hall is accessible to the public and was made suitable for disabled people. Constructed on a 5177 m2 at area, the mosque contains a basement, prayer floor, gathering-place and 4 minarets, each fifty-nine meters high.



Imam Mehmet Bilir has been designated to be the Imam of the Presidential Palace Mosque. Bilir has been chosen as the 2nd best well-versed imam in the world, in the Best Koran Reader competition, organized in Russia and Malaysia.
