Crash in southeastern Turkey leaves 65 illegal migrants wounded

A pickup truck carrying illegal migrants in Turkey’s southeastern province of Hakkari flipped over, wounding 65 people on Friday.

The accident occurred when the driver lost control of the steering wheel. All 65 passengers were identified as Pakistani nationals who were illegally smuggled into the country. The identity of the driver remains unidentified.

Ambulances and police teams were immediately dispatched to the scene of the incident.

Those who were injured, some of whom are in critical condition, were transported to the Yüksekova State Hospital. An investigation has been launched into the incident.
