Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım has said it would be "irrational" for the German parliament to approve a symbolic resolution that declares the 1915 incidents a "genocide."

"This vote in Berlin will be a test of the friendship between the two allies," said the Turkish PM during his speech at the Extended Provincial Presidents Meeting held at AK Party headquarters in Ankara.

Yıldırım said Justice and Development Party (AK Party) is aiming at pushing through constitutional change for a presidential system through parliament, adding solution to political impasse at the ballot box

"We will succeed in changing the constitution and implementing the presidential system. Turkey's new constitution should meet the country's needs and work should begin immediately on a new text," he said.

Yıldırım also touched upon the ongoing operations against the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) terrorists, saying Turkey's counterterrorism effort will continue.

"We will continue fighting against terrorists until they lay down weapons and cease their attacks on security forces, civilians," Yıldırım said

"Everyone must understand that Turkey doesn't have a Kurdish issue, but a terror issue," he said.
