Interior Ministry: 201 anti-terror operations carried out in Turkey last week

The statement said that 12 were arrested in the operations targeting Daesh cells, while 920 were taken into custody in the anti-FETÖ operations, 45 of whom were formally arrested

Turkish forces carry out anti-terror operations

Turkish Interior Ministry has said that security forces had conducted 201 anti-terror operations in the past week, targeting multiple terror organizations across the country.



In a weekly statement posted on its official website, the ministry announced that 318 were taken into custody, 77 of whom are under arrest, in the aftermath of the operations against Daesh, the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), and the terrorist FETÖ organization.



Moreover, 32 out of 386 previously taken into custody for suspected aiding and harboring of terrorists were formally arrested, according to the official statement.



The statement also said that 12 were arrested in the operations targeting Daesh cells, while 920 were taken into custody in the anti-FETÖ operations, 45 of whom were formally arrested.



2 were killed in the nationwide operations, while 10 terrorists were neutralized, 7 of whom were captured alive, in addition to one who surrendered himself to authorities.



Both ground and aerial Turkish Army Forces (TAF) took part in the operations last week, according to the same statement.
