A Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) terrorist was discovered to have been wearing a cross, the symbol of Christianity, after he was captured dead by the Turkish security forces in the eastern Turkish province of Van during the Eid al-Adha holiday.

Cafer code-named Zindan Bor, and Amed code-named Mehmet Yalçın were captured dead in Van. The security sources said a cross necklace was found on the one of the two terrorists.

These two were the ones who carried out the bomb attack in Van in the first day of Eid al-Adha on July 12.

The blast was conducted in the Beşyol district of Van, close to the provincial headquarters of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) and the governorate building and left 53 people injured.

Bor and Yalçın were also discovered to be the perpetrators of a number of bomb attacks including the one conducted in İpekyolu town that martyred two policemen.

Turkish forces have been conducting for more than two weeks an operation both by air and land in southeastern Turkey and northern Iraq's Qandil region, known as the main base for the PKK.

During Turkey's fight against PKK since July of 2015, more than 7,000 PKK terrorists were killed.
