Turkish Government Spokesman and Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmuş has said that initial findings show that the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) terrorists are behind the Istanbul attacks that left 29 people, including 27 police officers, martyred.

“PKK is likely to be behind the Istanbul attack. Materials used in the Kayseri bus attack were similar to those used in last week's dual bombing in Istanbul, " Kurtulmuş said on Saturday.

Bombs exploded in a terrorist attack that occurred in Istanbul last Saturday night, killing at least 29 people and wounding 166 on December 10.

Last week two bomb blasts were triggered near the Beşiktas stadium; one suicide bomber self-detonated in the Maçka Park, and a car bomb was blown up on a nearby street.

Both blasts took place at an interval of 45 seconds.

Today, a week after the Istanbul attack, on December 17, another suicide bombing targeted a public bus carrying off-duty soldiers in central Kayseri province of Turkey.
