A soldier has been martyred during a counter-terror operation in southeastern Turkey, a military official said Wednesday.

The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on talking to the media, said the security forces had been running a counter-terror operation in the Namaz Dağı Sori Tepe area of Şırnak province.

A hunt for other PKK terrorists in the area is ongoing.

Elsewhere in the province, security forces seized anti-tank missiles during a search, the General Staff said in a statement.

The two Swedish-made AT-4 missiles were uncovered in Bilictepe, Uludere, a mountainous district on the border with Iraq. The statement did not provide further details of the operation.

The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU -- resumed its armed campaign against Turkey in July 2015. Since then, it has been responsible for the deaths of 1,200 security personnel and civilians.
