Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu will make a crucial state visit to Libya on Monday in a bid to boost mutual ties between the two countries.

The Minister will meet Libyan Foreign Minister Mohammed Siyala and President of the Presidency Council of the Government of National Accord Fayez Mustafa Al-Sarraj.

The meeting is significant due to the delivery of a humanitarian aid package to Libyan officials.

Turkey has trained 804 policemen and 299 soldiers at the request of Libyan officials. It is pushing for further influence by supplying humanitarian aid.

In this context, the Turkish Red Crescent will deliver 10 tons of humanitarian aid including 500 food packages and 13,000 units of medicine.

The minister will also support Libyan officials during Libya's transition process as the support to Libya's presidential council will be highlighted.

During the meeting, Çavuşoğlu is expected to discuss Turkish companies' 304 incomplete projects in Libya, with the aim of taking steps for the projects to be completed.

Also, the process of reopening the Turkish embassy in Libya, evacuated in 2014 over security concerns, is expected to gather speed.

Previously in April, a delegation headed by Emrullah İşler visited Tripoli on 4-5 April 2016 to hold talks as a part of Turkey's support for the efforts of all sides in Libya towards building a common future through dialogue and mutual understanding.
