Security Forces killed eight terrorists and seized ammunition, weapons, hand-made detonators and plenty of other belongings in an operation against the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) terrorists in eastern Tunceli province.

The operation was launched after an unmanned aerial vehicle had detected some terrorist elements on Nov. 24, near Aliboğazı River in Tunceli.

Five terrorists were killed during the rural search between Nov. 24 and Nov. 28, while three others were neutralized in clashes, the Turkish military said.

On another note, the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) stormed a PKK cell house in the southeastern Viranşehir town of Şanlıurfa province with air support.

Upon receiving a tip regarding a group of terrorists from the mountainous area sheltering a cell house in the town, the TSK carried out a raid on the building and killed four terrorists who denied to surrender in the armed conflict.

PKK's İzmir branch brought down

Meanwhile, the Provincial Gendarmerie Command of İzmir found a shelter and eight warehouses, belonging to the disruptive PKK terrorist organization in three different districts within the provincial boundaries of Kemalpaşa town in western Turkey.

The TSK conducted numerous operations, raids and searches to eliminate presence in western Turkey, which became visible especially when some terrorists attacked on a local gendarmerie building with rockets on Feb. 23.

The PKK's activities in İzmir has largely been constrained following the recent campaign, according to military officials.

Recognized as a terrorist organization by Turkey and much of the international community including the U.S. and EU countries, the PKK has carried out an armed struggle against the Turkish state for nearly 30 years.

By ending the cease-fire agreement initiated by Ankara, the PKK launched an all-out war against Turkey in July 2015, but their activities have been significantly undermined after continuing clashes over one-and-a-half years.

Turkey blames the terrorist group for the deaths of tens of thousands of people.
