Turkish PM says PKK was behind Istanbul attack

Turkish PM vows to remove terror issue from Turkish agenda at any cost; vows to fight against all internal and external supporting elements

Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım on Wednesday named the PKK terror group as being responsible for the previous day's car-bomb attack in Istanbul that killed 11.



“The murderer is the PKK terrorist organization," Binali Yildirim said in response to journalists' questions while visiting survivors in hospital. “We aren't surprised. However, the circle tightens around the PKK."



The PM said hat his government's counter-terror fight will continue not only against the terrorist groups but “all supporting elements."



“We will continue this bitter struggle along with our military, police, gendarmerie, guards and even citizens all together as one body," Yııldırım said after his visit to Istanbul's Haseki Hospital, where the victims of yesterday's car bomb attacks are being treated.



As many as 11 people, including seven policemen, were killed and 36 others wounded when a car bomb targeted a police bus in Vezneciler neighborhood of Istanbul early Tuesday.



“We will do everything, not only against the terror groups but their internal and external supporters without any concessions," Yıldırım added.



The Turkish PM vowed to remove the terror issue from Turkish agenda at any cost.



He also said that at least 3 people, including 1 policeman, were killed and 30 others injured in a terror attack in the southeastern province of Mardin on Wednesday.
