Turkish president's military aide arrested

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's main military aide was taken into custody for alleged ties to Friday's failed coup attempt in the southern province of Antalya, according to a local source.



The local official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Lt. Col. Erkan Kivrak, the president's air force advisor, was taken into custody in a hotel in the Serik district of Antalya.



Kivrak is expected to be brought to Ankara to face trial there, said the official.
